I hold space for you as
you expand your life and your career

Let’s do the work together

I HAVE DONE THE WORK AND I AM STILL DOING IT TO SERVE YOU EVEN BETTER AS A COACH

Accepting to be vulnerable

I created my practice in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), where I was living with my family in 2022. Interestingly, it is also in the United Arab Emirates that I took my first steps as a toddler in the late 70s. Life is a strange cycle. I have also lived in the United States (in Houston), in Belgium, in England and in France.

I used to be a lawyer, managing my work, caring for our new born child, tending to the house, spending time with my husband, our friends, our families… but I felt something was off. I lacked patience, I was often angry and tired, and yet I smiled most of the time. I was great at work, but not so great at home. As I started thinking how difficult it was to “do it all”, I felt more and more anger and frustration. How could I admit I needed help? Wasn’t I suppose to be successful in everything?

I finally decided to see a therapist. I found the perfect one for me at the time. The first time I met her I just told her that I didn’t know why I was in her office but that I felt I needed to be here. At the end of the session, she said “I know how we can work together, I can support you”. I let the tears of relief roll out. I felt supported and felt that it was OK to be vulnerable. This would be my space to let go of some of the pressure.

I continued doing the work which has helped me understand what I was going through. As I failed to get into action and was always intellectualizing it all, coaching has made a difference to climb some of the most difficult steps I have had to climb.

I HAVE BECOME A COACH BECAUSE I KNOW HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO GET INTO ACTION

Identifying what holds us back and daring

As a coach, I create the right environment for you to feel free to explore and stimulate your curiosity to find what works best for you.

The variety of tools allows different approaches depending on your own story, where you are at, your personality and your goals. These tools help you move forward and get into action intentionally. It requires efforts, but all my clients have said how much it is worth it (check here).

MY PATH

Moving forward... lawyer... mediator... coach

My career has constantly been on the move however, I have always had in mind that I wanted to be present for my clients, be trustworthy, I also wanted to work both in French and in English, and I wanted to have quality time with my family.

That said, when I started working I did not have any children. During my 18 years as a lawyer, life has kept on “lifing” and as our family grew, I did not want to work as if I had no children. The energy it required to keep it all together was huge (at least for me).

As Nelson Mandela had said « either win or learn » : I tried to learn. I didn’t like litigation so I trained to become a mediator. I wanted more freedom in the way I worked with the clients so I left the big law firms and had my own practice. It didn’t all happen by snapping my fingers…

From mediation to coaching there was just one step to take and it took me quite some time and work to take that step. I was hesitant, afraid to fail, I had a lot of  “what if…?”, I was anxious financially, everybody had an opinion, and the most complicated was using the word “coach” – which doesn’t mean anything and that nobody understands – after having been a “lawyer” – which people don’t necessarily understand but that they often respect.

It is the support and the presence of third parties, personal work, training with very competent Institutes, meeting new people and being open to incredible opportunities that has allowed me to become the coach I am today.

A lot of us question where we are at, feel we are playing small and are tired of not getting into the game. It is for me and for you, that I have become a coach.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Need more answers?

IS AUDREY THE RIGHT COACH FOR ME?

The right coach is the one with which there is a match. It’s just like finding the right lawyer, the right doctor, the right counselor, etc. You must feel that there is trust and that the person is competent. This is essential for the work to be efficient. Don’t hesitate asking all of your questions. Taking the time to assess that we can work together is part of the discovery call.

DID AUDREY WORK WITH A COACH?

Yes, and I’ve worked with incredible ones too. I still have my own coach to support me on personal and professional issues.

CAN I BE COACHED IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE?

Coaching sessions can be in English, French or a mixture of both. Mixing both is very frequent for bilingual people or expats who enjoy the precision of a word in one of the languages.

HOW ARE THE SESSIONS ORGANIZED?

The sessions may be in person if you are in Abu Dhabi or through Zoom if you live anywhere else. The Zoom link is automatically sent in your emails when you book your sessions (check your spams).

In the sessions, we tackle the subject that you decide to bring forward – it can be a different subject at every session if you are looking for general guidance, or a single subject that we work on all along the sessions. Often, when the subject varies it reaches a point where you realize that there is a central subject to it all.

I am still hesitant because of the investment?

Yes, coaching is an investment. We can talk about this directly if you send me an email on adt@audreytricot.com or this can be a question for our Discovery Call.
